The Aether Mod just might be the largest and most complex mod that we’ve ever seen released. This mod adds an whole new dimension to your Minecraft world named “The Aether”. The Aether being the anti-pole to Minecraft’s Nether World.
Whereas the Nether is a desolate & barren wasteland containing pits of lava, netherrack, soulsand and glowstone – the Aether on the other hand is absolute Nirvana.
Features
The portal to the Aether is similar to that of the Nether world. The frame is built out of glowstone, but then is activated with a bucket of water.
Aether Mobs:
When you make it to the Aether you”ll notice that there are quite a few new mobs that you haven’t seen before. Your first encounters will likely be with flying pigs. These flying pigs can be flown with a saddle without being tamed first. But they can only jump one. The next mob is the Aerwhale. Aerwhales can be seen flying about in the Aether and are completely harmless. When the sun sets on the Aether you’ll encounter the Cockatrices. These new creatures are among the mobs in the Aether who can actually harm you, but similar to the Pig Men in the Nether world they will not attack first. Cockatrices expel poisonous needles that serve up heaping amounts of damage. So be armoured. Or just leave them alone.
Another mob you’ll find is the Moa. These peaceful birds can be found in while, black and blue. Wild Moas cannot be tamed, but they do drop eggs. Moas’ eggs can be incubated with an incubator block with ambrosium torches used as fuel. Once the eggs have been incubated the baby Moas can be fed Aechor Petals. They’ll need a total of seven Aechor Petals to reach full-growth but they can and will refuse to eat. Once they’re fully grown they can be tamed by placing a saddle on their back, but unlike the flying pigs, Moas can jump an unlimited amount of times including in mid-air. Blue Moas are able to perform 3 mid-air jumps, Whites 4 and Blacks 8.
Dungeons:
The Aether features three different levels of dungeons each with unique loot that can’t be found anywhere else. These three levels are bronze, silver and gold. Each dungeon will have bosses that need to be defeated in order to get the loot. The blocks that make up the dungeons can’t be broken until the bosses are defeated.

I installed the aether mod following the directions in the video EXACTLY….. yet it does not work.
Any help for an XP user?
If it didn’t work then you did something incorrectly, Windoze XP/Vista/7 Are all the same regarding installation.

This happened to me too,because its only for 1.7.3. Seriously it needs to be upgraded to 1.0.0!
it’s a big mod that took a long time to make by a lot of people.
Be patient and wait.
you need to install mod loader audio mod and ShockAhPI…
you put them in the minecraft jar file but with shock you put only the stuff in the bin file into the .jar… go back and click in the file resorces…go into the bin folder and click on resorces in there drag and drop the contenents of the shock resorces into the minecraft resorces and its a file called mod…

then your done with those…
with the actual mod you put the stuff in the jar file into the minecraft.jar file…
close the .jar in 7zip or whim-raw BUT REMEMBER TO DELETE META-INF

You don’t have to start a new game. Real world mob spawning mods are usually making you do that. reason aether dosen’t make you create new world:Cuz its a new dimension.

Cyldrick – I’d backup my save game .dat file before installing if I were you. But yea, you can open your normal save game and play it with this mod.
Is this mod compatible with the stuffed animals mod and the clay soldiers mod because I have both of them

My nine year old is dying for these mods and yet no tutorial and necessary links can be described forthrightly enough to carry it out. Tell me if I’m wrong but winrar must have a command line that would automate these mods if only the links of where to get them were forthcoming. possibly a craftsman is required to get your code out there without videos that have swear words in them.

I’ve downloaded this and all it needs but every time I download a mod after I log in on MineCraft the screen goes black. Why?
do you have single player commands if you do deinstall it then reinstall it.

I did everything and de-graded my minecraft to 1.7.3 and install all the correct mods, and when i enter the aether portal (or nether portal) it say saving chunks then goes black screen and the ONLY other mod I have is Too Many Items for 1.7.3 aswell :/ So I’m stuck in the portal and when I load my game it says saving chunks and crashes
i keep doin everything correctly and after i log in it goes black and then it never starts up i would like to know why this is happening -ps i would love if this mod came out for minecraft 1.0.0
Yea the Aether is very specific how you put it in.
Do creepers act like spiders in morning and night, nice night and day or blow you up no matter what?
they blow up no matter what [unles your in creative, u need to punch them in creative and then they blow up.]

Guys, this mod took them 6 MONTHS to make the first release. Then another 5 for bug updating. Please be patient and did you delete META-INF? Did you follow the video exactly? I mean, go to the minecraft forum aether mod website and there is a SPC patch. it is meant to be “dc.class”. Please let me know if this does not work. I am a first timer in this area, but it may even never come out for 1.0.0. If you keep on chasing latest and best, you will get nowhere. So please don’t go putting 1.0.0 messages on this site.

This mod most likely will not be updated because Notch was planning on adding it into the game and the creator of the Aether must have seen that it was planned for an update in the game and decided not to work on it if its going into the game. When The Aether actually gets into the game, i hope that the extra equipment slots will be added with it… Check the wiki of the skyworld for more information.

If you get 1.2.5 you are accessable to ANY modifacation,and the Aether mod.Just download the mod,open your files delete META-INF then open Minecraft AFTER you delete META-INF.Then go to “Roaming” and open Minecraft.jar and click on “bin” open the file that says “mods and texture packs” and go back to Minecraft and open “Texture Packs”.Drag the Aether mod out of your files into Minecraft.then will open a screen that asks if you want to confirm this mod.Click “yes” and then get on any singleplayer world you already have.You can now play Minecraft and teleport to the Aether P.S.To build the Aether portal,make a nether portal but with glowstone.Activate it with a water bucket!Now lets play some Minecraft!!
